Whether it be learning to form your first letters or understanding the finer points of irony in Chaucer’s Prologue to the Canterbury Tales, 3Rs Tuition has the English tutors who can help your child. English tuition is offered for all levels up to A level.
The conception that, in the modern world of email and texting, English is less important could not be further from the truth. Nowadays, it is vital to pass English Language GCSE, with a good grade to progress in almost any career option. Failure to achieve a grade 4 will mean that a resit will be required.
At 3Rs Tuition we see having a good vocabulary basis and being able to use the correct punctuation, as central to ensuring your child has a brighter future.
All of our tuition is individually based on your child’s needs, whatever year they may be in, to ensure they have the best chance to fulfil their potential.
At Key Stage 1 and 2, we focus on developing both reading and writing skills, unlocking the door to a greater vocabulary, a more in depth understanding of comprehension activities, being more adventurous with descriptive and creative writing and genuinely enjoying using the language. We focus on your child’s interests to motivate them to read and be more creative, whilst ensuring they are using formal language when appropriate. We also develop your child’s confidence with tackling important tests at the end of Key Stage 2, ensuring comprehension questions are answered in full and answers develop a more mature approach, using a full range of vocabulary.
At Key Stage 3 and 4, we help your child to understand the key areas required to achieve their potential at GCSE. Whether this be quoting from the text, understanding key terminology associated with persuasive writing, or even developing a good structure for a controlled assessment on Shakespeare, all of our English tutors have a vast experience of making sure your child is fully prepared. No matter what board they are taking, our tutors can tailor your child’s tuition to their individual needs.
At A Level we focus on the exact requirements of each board for English Language, Literature or the combined course. Whether your child needs to produce an analysis of an interview on the television or fine tune their knowledge of the gothic horror genre, we are here to help. Often at A Level, the issue can be how to structure essay responses, rather than subject knowledge and our English tutors are experts in this field.
